Google switched things up this year by releasing a developer version of Android N far ahead of I/O, but that's not the only convention they've done away with this year. For the first time, Google will accept name suggestions from the public. Please enable JavaScript to watch this video.
You can visit android.com/versions/name-n if you'd like to submit a name for the next version of Android.. It sounds as though they will continue to name Android after a dessert, so foods like nachos, nuts, and noodles probably won't be considered. But there's still nougat, New York cheesecake, and perhaps Nutella and Nerds, depending on Google's definition of dessert.
