How To: Enhance Your iPhone's Stock Camera App with These New Features
We use the cameras on our phones to become Instagram-famous, direct Snapchat videos, and post pictures for all our Facebook friends to gander at. Needless to say, camera technology in smartphones has come pretty far in a fairly short amount of time. In fact, a film shot entirely with an iPhone 5S was just accepted into the Sundance Film Festival. But as good as these shooters have become, they can always be better. If you're still rocking an iPhone 5S or older, one thing your camera didn't get in iOS 8 was the auto-focus feature exclusive to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Luckily, if you're jailbroken, there's a way you can get it on any iPhone for high-quality focused images in half the time. In addition, I'll show you a faster way to switch from your front to rear-facing camera. Please enable JavaScript to watch this video.

AFVideo Adds Autofocus to Older iPhonesSometimes, no matter how hard you try, the objects in your photos and videos will be out of focus. With the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple introduced Focus Pixels and continuous autofocus to help keep your photos and videos in-focus at all times. If you have an iPhone 5S or older that's jailbroken, you can still get this feature in your stock Camera app using a tweak called AFVideo by developer PoomSmart. Search for it in Cydia and install it for free. Once installed, there will be no options to configure; just open the Camera app and enjoy your new feature. Autofocus is great for actually taking pictures and movies, but the next tweak will makes things a little easier before you start shooting.

TapTapFlip Switches Cameras with a Double-TapTapTapFlip, from CP Digital Darkroom, is another tweak in Cydia that will give you the ability to switch between the front and rear camera with a simple double-tap anywhere on the screen. Now those selfies will be even easier to take.Like AFVideo, there are no options to configure; simply install, respring your device, and the tap-to-flip feature will be added to your default Camera app. Just know that tapping once will still focus on a specific area; tapping twice will flip the camera. Which of these tweaks do you enjoy more? Let us know in the comments section below, or over on Facebook, Google+, or Twitter.
