Snapchat 101: How to Tag Your Friends Using Snap's @ Mention Feature

Snapchat 101: How to Tag Your Friends Using Snap's @ Mention Feature
Along with the awesome early-2018 addition of Giphy GIFs in Snapchat, you can now share other people's Snapchat handles and tag them in a way that lets others reach those people easily — something you couldn't do before in the app.Whenever you tag somebody in one of your snaps, their handle will appear right in the image or video for all to see, however big and bold or nonchalent you make it. Anybody that you tagged in the snap will receive a notification from Snapchat saying that "[Your Name] mentioned you in their Story!"For example, if you tag your friend Anthony in a snap and put it on your story, your other friends will be able to easily add Anthony as a friend. Anthony will also be notified that you tagged him in your story.
Step 1: Take a SnapFirst, begin by opening up Snapchat and taking a snap like you always would — by tapping the white shutter circle at the bottom of your screen. You can flip around the camera by double-tapping on the screen.

Step 2: Find a Friend to TagOnce you take your snap, tap on it (or the "T" icon) to begin writing on it as you would any other. To tag a friend, type @, and your friends will appear as suggestions with their Bitmojis accompanying their tags. Either scroll through the carousel and tap their name or manually finish typing their name out yourself.

Step 3: Make the Tag All SpiffyAfter you select them, you can choose a variety of fonts to display their name in, and then you can pinch to resize their handle after you confirm it. You should be able to tag all your friends in your snaps. This will likely make it easier for larger creators to be discovered in a way similar to Instagram, which has had this feature for a while now.

Viewing Tagged Users in SnapsWhen you're viewing somebody's snap with a @mention in it, you can swipe up on the screen to view a list of all of those tagged. From there, you can view their see their name and "Add" them as a friend if you'd like. If it's a celebrity or business account, you can tap "Subscribe" instead to start following them.
