The long standing popularity of 4chan has been due to the entirely anonymous setup. The site's anonymous community and culture has provoked media attention, in turn inciting larger audiences. On the other side of the spectrum is Facebook—popular for its connectivity and easily identifiable names. With the brush of keyboard stroke, you can be connected with your entire high school class in a matter of seconds.Together, Facebook and 4chan cover the two sides of the internet spectrum: public and anonymous. Together, the two don't usually mesh well. If anything, 4chan is usually the aggressor, while Facebook pays in compromised accounts. Sites that are anonymous just don't seem to fit in to the very public and forthcoming world of real name social media.But, a new application for iOS called Spraffl is trying to change that (Android app is in development).Spraffl, proclaiming to be "the world's first anonymous social network", is a unique app that takes the anonymity of a site like 4chan and combines it with the social media attributes like that of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.Unlike most apps, it doesn't let you sign in through any other third-party social media. All you have to do is download it, press continue, and allow the app to send you Push Notifications. If you don't allow Spraffl to send you Push Notifications, it won't work (this was the only thing that bothered me). You'll then be sent to the main page with a search button on the top left, a list button on the top right, and a plus sign surrounded by four tabs at the bottom of the page: Live, Recruit, Activity, and Settings. All of the green circles are posts by other users, while the blue ones are your posts. To post something on Spraffl, you'll need to tap on the large plus sign at the bottom of the page. You have 140 characters to write anything you want, with the choice of refining your location and categorizing your post.Changing the category of your Spraff (name for your post) will change the icon in the circle when viewed on the map, so that other users can see if you're asking a question, making a statement, reviewing an establishment, or just plain flirting. After posting, you can look around on the live map and comment on any of the posts in your vicinity. Since the application is fairly new, I couldn't find many posts. If there were posts, most of them were questions on how to use the app by new users. If someone posts on one of your posts, you will receive a Push Notification, but you can also check all of your notifications under the Activity tab. Under Settings, you can alter your Push Notifications. Since the app is very new, you can tap on the Recruit tab and share it with other friends. Overall, I found Spraffl to not only be entertaining, but also very useful. Spraffl is almost like a combination of several websites, which makes it all the more exciting for what lies ahead.It can be used like Craigslist, to post Spraff's when you're having garage sales, need help on housework, and looking for certain items. It can be used like Yelp to read reviews on restaurants and bars. It can be used like Twitter to read short blurbs of what people in your neighborhood are thinking. It can be used like Instagram to post pictures. It can even be used like a dating website to find love (maybe).And all while remaining completely anonymous.

Full disclosure — I have almost zero Street Fighter experience. The first time I played the game was at Barcade, way back in ... 2017. Yes, to the shame of gamers everywhere, this reviewer is a Street Fighter noob.Fortunately, my inexperience does nothing to hinder my appreciation of a good game. Street Fighter IV Champion Edition is an overall great game, with deep gameplay, varied game modes, and a satisfying online experience.

Touch ControlsHere we go. I almost wonder if this section should be omitted from every mobile game review. Touch controls are notorious for being, well, awful. And for a game like Street Fighter, where tight control is everything, you'd wonder how the game is even playable without a physical controller.Luckily, Street Fighter is compatible with MFi controllers, like the Gamevice. Forget touch controls, right??Wrong. I don't have one of those, and, seeing as the Gamevice is $100, I won't be getting one anytime soon. I had to play with what God — or CAPCOM — gave me.And guess what? It doesn't suck! Go figure. CAPCOM somehow made Street Fighter an enjoyable mobile experience, without making you wish you were back in the 90s, playing in an arcade. Now, I'm not going to lie and say the controls are perfect — some of the more complex moves are inconsistent. I had trouble getting the Hadouken to work much of the time, which proved to be a pain in more than a few situations.More often than not, however, the controls felt all right. A favorite move of mine is to jump in the air and spam the kick button. That works pretty well! And I think that's the divide — for a beginner like myself, the controls are fine. But for someone who knows every move combination, who depends on split-section reaction times for their game strategy, these controls just don't cut it.

GraphicsI think this is the game's weak point. The character animations can be a little rough at times, but you do have to remember this is a mobile port. That doesn't bother me as much as some of the menu choices. The main screen has some creative choices for buttons and options, but when menus pop up, they look so ... out of place. And dated. I want to say for a mobile game this looks impressive, but I've seen much sharper mobile games before. I don't think it looks bad — just a little uneven.

Game ModesStreet Fight IV offers plenty of different game modes that make for a game you'll return to.Solo Play offers Arcade mode, which puts the player up against the other Street Fighters one at a time. It feels like a traditional game, with each match acting as its own level. Beat all the levels, and you beat the game. Survival mode tests your stamina, as it again pits you against the fighters one at a time, but doesn't reset your health meter. You will get health boosts from time to time, but for the most part, you're on your own until you're eventually defeated. Challenge mode is a fun game that also serves as a kind of training. You are given a combo to perform against a non-moving opponent. You can beat the other fighter as much as you want — they will never die. Once you hit them with the combo in question, however, boom — instant K.O.Speaking of training, there's an actual training mode here, which feels much like challenge mode without the challenges. This is just a fun place to test your moves.
OnlineStreet Fight IV does offer online play, and while I was initially skeptical. The experience was generally very good. I didn't have any dropped matches, or too many slow downs. For the most part, the experience felt like playing against someone in the same room as me. I have to give CAPCOM props for developing such a smooth multiplayer experience. Street Fighter's online mode gives the game additional value, and is yet another reason to return after playing through the solo game modes.
ValueSo, here's the thing — this game isn't free. In fact — at $5, it's a little expensive — as far as mobile games go. But here's what you're getting for $5 — a fully realized mobile port of Street Fighter, with an abundance of characters and game modes to choose from. All that, and you also get a really well-done online matchmaking experience. And, maybe best of all, the game features no ads. What a concept! A mobile game without a plague of advertisements. That alone might justify the cost.If you're a Street Fighter fan and are looking for a way to get your fix on the go, I'd highly recommend downloading this one for yourself. Basic information about a person can be found for free, though more detailed reports are available at a rate of $9.99 each, which would include information such as criminal history and previous addresses, where applicable.But if you just want to find out who called you, head to the Search tab and simply type in their number. From my experience, you will usually uncover a significant amount of information about the individual searched.The backend service scrapes the web to find as much information about the person or business for which the number is registered. After testing several numbers, I found most of the information to be accurate, though birth dates were a bit off. Otherwise, the app will pull known email addresses, social media information, aliases, and even show you a picture pulled from the individual's Facebook page in some cases. You are limited to 10 free reports for either a phone number or email, so use these wisely — ideally for identifying information about local numbers, not toll-free numbers. The two apps below are more useful for receiving information about calls from telemarketers and integrating with call logs on your device.

2. Reverse LookupThe Reverse Lookup app from Nomadic Ratio is a simple tool to quickly check phone numbers. The app is free for basic use, however, a premium version is available for $1.99 that integrates caller ID for a more automated experience.Install Reverse Lookup for free from the Google Play Store The app pulls in information from your call log and puts it in a list view with different icons indicating incoming or outgoing calls. To see a caller's name, you'll have to select their number from the list — but this list only contains calls from numbers that aren't in your contacts, so they're all unknown callers.After selecting a number, you'll see the person or company's name at the top of the next page. From here, you can head to the Discussion tab to see what other users have to say about the person or company behind this number, which is useful for determining if it's a legitimate caller or just spam. Another neat feature is the ability to share the information to different platforms which is helpful for publicizing harassment situations.

3. WhoscallThe Whoscall app is a free application for identifying incoming callers that comes packaged with a couple of other features. Though the free version does contain ads, they're minimally invasive and only appear in certain areas of the app or after rejecting a call.Install Whoscall for free from the Google Play Store Whoscall continually monitors your incoming calls, so you'll see a popup with the identity of a caller as the call is actually coming in. Legitimate calls from either a reputable business or one of your contacts will appear with a green icon attached, while unknown entities will be marked with a gray icon, and notoriously sketchy calls will have a red icon. Information for unwanted calls is compiled from user reviews, and this data can be viewed under the "Info" section within the app if you missed the original popup. If you head to the app's main settings menu, you can tweak a few features — namely the pop-up dialog that appears when receiving a call. As the service uses an online database to reference incoming numbers, it needs to have an internet connection, which is set to "Wi-Fi only" by default. So if you'd like to get these call-screening features while out and about, you'll need to change this option, though note that it will use your monthly mobile data allotment.Beyond that, you can have the app automatically block calls from suspected spam numbers if you'd like. To try that out, open the "Block" menu in settings, then choose from the available options to block calls from private numbers, everyone not in contacts, international numbers, or set up custom rules. There are a ton of great new features in iOS 8, and one of the most interesting (and perplexing) ones is called "Family Sharing."By utilizing this feature, you are creating a continuity among all of the iOS devices in your family, granting members the ability to share apps, locations, media, and photos through iCloud services. As stated by Apple, "Sharing with your family comes naturally. Now it comes to all your content."This features can be a little confusing if you've never used it before, so I'll break down all of the cool things you can do with Family Sharing. Setting Up Family Sharing for the First TimeIf you didn't already enable Family Sharing when updating to iOS 8, you can enable it in your device's Settings menu. Head into the iCloud section, tap on Family Share, then follow the quick setup.You'll be able to invite members via email address (up to 5 total), which they will need to confirm. After confirmation, as the Organizer of the Family Share plan, you're responsible for setting up a payment option for future iTunes and App Store purchases. That means you're responsible for paying for other members' purchases. As the Organizer of the family, future iTunes purchases from children will require your approval using the Ask to Buy notification that will pop up on your iPhone. Other Adults on the Family Share program, like a husband or wife, can be toggled to also give approval with Ask to Buy.

Keeping Track of Your Family at All TimesUnder the iCloud options, at the bottom of the page, you should see Share My Location. Once opened, you are given the option to share your location amongst family different members. After it's enabled, this will give them an up-to-date view of your location using the Find My Friends or Messages app. Each member of the family must enable this on their device in order to view their location. Definitely remember this feature while on a family vacation to Disney World. Apple states that this location service should also allow members to view one another's phone location through the Find My iPhone app. I have yet to get this function working on my iPhone, but was able to view all of the family devices using iCloud beta online.

Sharing Your Apps Between AccountsTo access apps purchased by family other members, navigate to iTunes -> Update -> Purchased. You should now see Family Purchases with members of the family underneath it. Simply tap on a member and view their apps. You can also download their apps onto your own device, even if they were paid apps. If you ever leave your Family Sharing group, you will lose access to these apps.

Sharing iBooks, Movies, Music, & TV ShowsWith Family Sharing activated, your entire family's collection of movies, music, or television shows can significantly increase as you all now have access to each other's content.Navigate to iTunes Store -> More -> Purchased. Select a family member and download the content you want from them. To acquire iBooks, simply navigate to the iBooks app and select Purchased to view purchased content from family members. If you download music and then leave the Family Sharing group, you will be able to keep that music, since it's not DRM-protected, but TV shows, movies, etc. will not work without being associated with the buyer's Apple ID somehow.

Creating a Family AlbumFamily albums are always fun to look at, and now, you're family doesn't even need to be in the same place to enjoy a collective album of precious moments. With Family Share, you can all contribute to a digital album shared amongst all family iPhones. First, make sure that iCloud Photo sharing is enabled under the Photos options in the iCloud settings. Under the Photos app, select Shared and view your Family album. As long as the iCloud service is enabled, all members can contribute and view the family album.

Getting the Family on the Same ScheduleGetting the entire family together is never easy, but Family Share tries to help you with that, too. Using the Calendar application, just create an event and add it to the Family calendar. All members on Family Sharing will receive a notification and have it added to their calendar as well.
How to Leave the "Family"If for whatever reason someone needs to be removed or wishes to leave Family Sharing, navigate to Settings -> iCloud -> Family Sharing. Select the individual and tap Remove. Individual users can do this themselves and the family organizer can also completely stop Family this way by selecting their own account and opting out of Family Share.Keep in mind that Family Sharing was designed for single family use, so users can only join or initiate Family Sharing twice a year. In order to receive Family Share benefits on your Mac, users must be running Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.The Family Sharing feature seems to have immense potential, but you'll have to convince the entire family to use an iPhone and agree to share their content. Besides that, there are definitely certain circumstances that would enable this feature to be a lifesaver, so give it a try.
